Synthesizing and Studying the Crystal Structureof ZnSb thin films

Zinc antimonide was prepared by melt-quenching method, then the pre-synthesized powder evaporated on different substrates (glass, Si (001) and KBr) at room temperature (R.T) and (473K) by using thermal evaporation technique.The ZnSb powder and thin films were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern, were we note two phases (ZnSb and Zn4Sb3) in all samples except the film that deposited on glass substrate at (R.T) which has exposed a single phase (ZnSb phase) in comparison with the other films which have a small volume fraction of Zn4Sb3 phase .

The effect of temperature of operation on the Turn-on Time Delay of Semiconductor Lasers

In this paper, the effect of temperature of operation on the turn-on time delay, td, of semiconductor laser has been re-studied theoretically. We proposed a model to calculate the temperature dependence (TD) of td according to the TD of laser cavity parameters. An accurate analytical expression of td as a function of temperature has been driven in term of TD of threshold carrier density. The TD of threshold carrier density was calculated according to the TD of cavity parameters and not by the well-known exponential Pankove relation via the use of characteristics temperature and current. A very good agreement between the values of td calculated by the proposed model and the numerical method through the shown simulation results. We also re-drived approximated expressions of td as a function of temperature according to this model.

Collective C2 and C3 Transitions in 17O

The longitudinal form factors for C2 and C3 transitions to some positive and negative parity excited states in 17O nucleus are investigated in the framework of Particle-Vibration Coupling Model (PVCM). Configuration mixing is allowed for the PVCM states that include up to two octupole phonons and three quadrupole phonons of the collective states, and 1d5/2, 2s1/2 and 1d3/2 harmonic oscillator shells of the single-particle states. The total Hamiltonian is diagonalized in this space. Admixture of higher configurations is considered for the ground state wave function, and the core polarization effect is introduced by giving the odd nucleon an effective charge to obtain the best description for the data.

The Measurements of Some Mechanical Properties And Corrosion Resistance of Commercial Aluminum Alloys

The aim of this study is to test the different mechanical properties. hardness , tensile strength , and the corrosion resistance of commercial aluminum alloys. After recasting in a gasoline furnace. The steel mold is heat treating by an electric furnace. Using homogenization heat treatment at(500ºC) for(15 hrs).This heat treatment objective is to remove thermal stresses resulting from casting .The ingot is prepared by cutting the alloys in order to proper specimen . These specimens were examined for chemical composition and their mechanical properties were measured ;including hardness , tensile strength , and corrosion rate are taken.

Rapid Solidification of Cu-Al Alloys and its Effects on some of theProperties of these Alloys and their Corrosion Rates

This paper presents the results of an experimental investigation of the effects of rapid solidification on the general properties of two types of copper aluminum, (Cu-Al), alloys during the process of their manufacture. The two alloys were prepared by melting their constituents, at the same proportions recommended by the international standards, in a graphitic furnace in an oil fired furnace. The rapid solidification unit and metal moulds were designed and fabricated in order to allow the castings in the mould to be cooled and solidified quickly. Strips of various thicknesses ranging from 3mm to 6mm have been subjected to different cooling media including air, ordinary water and iced water. Examinations of the fabricated castings included optical microstructure observations, Vickers hardness and tensile strength testing as well as their corrosion rates against sea water. Nonlinear systems and their applications to the regularized Boussinesq system

In this paper, bifurcation analysis of the cubic nonlinear system has been studied. It is shown that there is a regular solution in some domains of parameters of a given system, also the Discriminant set of a certain system was found. The existence and stability of periodic solutions of the regularized Boussinesq system were shown.

Effects of Facial Segments Featureson Human Face Classification

Pictures of human faces are difficult to analyze, recognize and identify by using computers. They are extremely complex objects that vary over times.The purpose of this paper is to detect the effects of the facial segments on classification of human face images. (25) Iraqi persons were studied. (7) Face images for each person were taken with different orientations and facial expressions. Therefore, each full face image was segmented into the three most important segments: eyes, nose and mouth segments. The clustering techniques were used to determine the effects of the facial segment features in this field by using the obtained data. The practical experiments gave interesting and useful results by using Pentium (4)–PC and MATLAB 6.5.

Images enhancement using hybrid Median-Mean filters

This paper presents new techniques for noise reduction depending on filters. The two proposed filters are to simulate and improve the effects of two kinds of smoothing filters: Mean and Median filters. These two filters are of amplitude and statistic kinds but they are vibrated between the linear and nonlinear kinds.The first proposed filter takes the average of mean and median filters for each pixel in the image as a new pixel in the filtered image. While the second filter takes the average of the W median intensity values in the mask (H×W) for each pixel in the image as a new pixel in the filtered image.Simulations show that the proposed filters work well in suppressing two different kinds of noise: Poisson and Gaussian from both images grayscale and RGB while preserving image details.

Effect of drenching aqueous extract of Allium Proroum seeds on some Seminal characteristics of Alloxan

This study was carried out on 24 mature Vasectomied local male rabbits. The male rabbits then randomly allocated into three equal groups of eight animals each. The first group was left healthy and regarded as control group. The second and third groups were injected 150mg/kg body weight alloxan in the ear vein for three successive days in order to render them diabetic and after a month from occurrence of diabetes , the second group was treated by drenching each animal 5ml/day aqueous extract of allium pororum seeds for three weeks, the third group was left without treatment. Then the epidydemis of each animal was isolated to get the semen and study their characteristics. Results obtained were as follows :

1- Diabetes clearly occurred after alloxan injection as blood glucose level was high.
2- Aqueous extract of allium pororum seeds has a significant effect on decreasing alloxan hyperglycemia.


3- All seminal characteristics of alloxan diabetic male rabbits were significantly deteriorated .
4- Significant improvement in seminal characteristics were found in alloxan diabetic male rabbits treated by 5ml/animal /day of aqueous extract of allium pororum seeds for three weeks.

Spectrophotometric Investigation of Al (III) and Ga (III) Chalcone complexes based on 3-phenyl-1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-2-propene-1-one

Metal complexes of 3-phenyl-1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-2-propene-1-one with Al (III) and Ga (III) ions in 95% ethanolic solution have been prepared and studied . Ligand to metal ratio for the complexes has been investigated using the mole ratio method. The 3:1 complexes absorb light in the region 200-600 nm. Formation constant also have been determined using corresponding solution method.The spectrophotometric investigation of the metal complexes indicated that the detection limits were 0.97x10-6 M of Al (III) and 1.35x10-6 M of Ga (III) ions with linear calibration curves up to 3.0x10-4 M for both ions. No interferences were noticed with most transition metal under our experimental conditions.

Synthesis and Spectroscopic Characterization of Di-Norborna-5-ene Pyrazine N, N-Dioxide

The specific isomerization of trans nitrosite dimer using strong base to give nitro-oxime which is followed by condensation by sulphuric acid provides a flexible method for the synthesis of di-norborna-5-ene pyrazine N,N-dioxide, which is characterised by the CHN, UV, IR and NMR techniques.
