Criteria for Plasma Domains in Gunn Diode Fabricated from GaAs and InP

Various parameters are proposed relevant to criteria for physical domains in solid-state plasmas. Strongly-and Weakly-coupled classical plasmas are divided according to the plasma parameter Γ. Classical and quantum domains are separated according to the quantum degeneracy parameter Λ .The weakly-coupled degenerate plasma is described in terms of the quantum compression parameter rs. In this paper, the application is made to Gunn diode, one of the long lasting Transferred Electron Devices (TED’s), fabricated from GaAs and InP, and suggested a new study to analyze the modes of operation of both devices in terms of these parameters by varying the charge-carrier concentration along the device layers (Substrate and active layer region) at 300K. Incorporating novel empirical relations have been done for the first time, for microwave operating frequency, which lead to other new relations for the device length and charge-carrier concentration, in terms of plasma domains. The four principal domains discussed are: strongly – and weakly – coupled classical plasmas, degenerate plasmas and weakly – coupled degenerate plasmas.

Potassium permanganate (KMnO4) is a strong oxidant salt that is used to dissolve organic
material found in water. To study the effect of (KMnO4) on some physiological parameters in mice (Mus Musculus L.). Twenty four female mice were subdivided into three groups, one as control group that received intrapretonial 0.1 ml of distilled water , and two treatment groups, one received 0.25 mg and the other received 0.50 mg per mice of (KMnO4) daily during two weeks. Blood parameters (PCV,Hb,RBC,WBC) showed significant decrease (P<0.01) when compared with control group.
On the other hand, the study of biochemical parameters showed significant increase(P<0.01). in GOT , and significant decrease(P<0.01) in GPT , and alkaline phosphates , while no effect appeared in RBS , Blood urea , and serum creatinine when compared with the control group (P<0.01).

MODIFIED METHOD FOR THDETERMINATION OF MERCURY II BY ADOPTING PORPHYRIN COMPLEX

A new method was adopted for the determination of mercury ions in water samples after complexation between mercury and TPP (meso-tetraphenylporphin). Water samples were investigated in the presence of mercury, 3 samples along Shatt Al-Arab River close to discharging point of waste from Basrah paper factory as follows; 1) 5 km north to discharging point, 2) discharging point it self and 3) 5 km from the discharging point towards the south as well as station 4) Karmatt Ali as a control. Mercury was determined spectrophotometricaly after the formation of the complex Hg-TPP at wave length of 440 nm. It was found that mercury concentration was 0.0492 mg.l-1 in the discharging point from basrah paper factory to shatt Al-Arab River compared to undetectable in all other sites. The method is reliable with sensitivity of 0.0134 gm.cm.l-1 , accuracy of 9 × 10-6, standard deviation of 0.00317 and detection limit of 0.75 × 10-7.

Preparation and Spectroscopic Identification of Some Sulphamerazine Imines

Sulphamerazine Imines derived from Sulphamerazine and selected aromatic aldehydes, namely, 2-Hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde, 4-Hydroxy benzaldehyde, salicaldehyde, 3-Ethoxy Salicaldehyde and p-Toluealdehyde have been synthesized and characterized by IR, 1HNMR and GC. Mass spectroscopy .The results revealed that , all compounds exit in imino form where the chemical shift (σ )of the imino proton ( HC=N ) are within the range 8.5- 9.6 . The strong intrahydrogen bonding was observed in compounds containing OH group in ortho position of aldehydes ( compounds 1,3 and 4) as indicated by the downfiled OH proton signals which appeared within the range 12-15.5 ppm .
