Antiamoebic activity of extracted phenolic compounds of Prosopis juliflora in Laboratory mice.

The present study investigated the effect of phenolic compounds mixed of the Prosopis juliflora against Entamoeba histolytica which cause the amoebic dysentery in comparision with common drug Metronidazole (Flagyl) activity in experimentally infected mices .
Parasite specimens were collected from patients suffered from amoebiasis , the intensity of the infection was classified as mild, moderate and heavy . The heavy one was used in experimental infection of mices.
The phenolic compounds of Prosopis juliflora isolated by thin layer chromatography TLC and identified by UV light , folin reagent and Iron chloride reagent. The results appear that the excystation of parasite in intestine of the infected mice was take place.
The (short-term) toxicity of phenolic compounds mixed of the Prosopis juliflora showed the material was slightly toxic, the LD50 was determined as 15.205 g/kg and the test showed that female were more tolerant than male.
Finaly the therapeutic dose of the extract was examined against E. histolytica in expermintal mices after 10 days post infection.
The results indicated that the extract showed significant amoebicidal effect in infected group comparision with both metronidazole treated group and the control group . The therapeutic dose was 1.182 g/kg for one week.

The activity of Nigella sativa , Pegnanum harmala , Syzqium oramac , , Linum grandiflorum , Prunus amygdalus , were evaluated on the termites workers of Microcerotermes diversus in the laboratory with differents concentrations 0.5 %, 1% and 2% by using filter paper and spray methods .Results showed ,there are an effective on the mortalty of termites .The most effective was spray method in termites mortality with the various exposure times , the oil of Syzqium oramac which was the only oil that cause mortality in workers with 70.45 % in filter paper method and highest mortality percentage 92.71 % in spray method , also show a repellent effect on termites workers , in the treated powder the oil of cause 100 %mortality in concentration 2% after 24 hour .
