Diffractive structure of Electromagnetic form factors in 7Li

The electron scattering form factors of 7Li have been calculated in the limited 1P-shell model space as well as in the extended 6 model space through core-polarization effects. The predictions of longitudinal and transverse form factors which includes core-polarization effects to first order were compared with the experimental values. Core polarization matrix elements are calculated with MSDI and M3Y effective interaction respectively. The inclusion of core polarization leads to an enhancement of the calculated form factor, improving the agreement with experiment.

Histopathology of sub chronic toxicity with organophosphate compound coumaphos in Rock dove pigeons (Columba livia gaddi)

The aim of this study was to investigate sub chronic toxicity of oral administration of organ phosphorus insecticide coumaphos for three month in rock dove pigeons .Thirty birds were divided into three equal groups Each group was treated either with 0.5 mg/bird (group A) or 0.3 mg/bird (group B) or left as control group(group C)..Histopathological changes were revealed degenerate/vacuolated nerve fibers in spinal cord and sciatic nerve, liver congestion and periportal fibrosis. Hyperatrophy of renal cortical tubules and vacuolation of myocardial muscle cells were also noticed

Screening of Fusarium isolates pathogenicity in vitro by using the larvae of Galleria Mellonella L.

Eighty soil samples are collected from cultivated soil in different locations in Basrah. A total of 78 isolates were detected and idintified belonging to F.chlamydosporum ,F.equiseti,F.graminearum,F.moniliforme,F.oxysporum ,F.poae,F.semitectum ,F.sacchari and F.solani . The pathogenicity of all Fusarium isolates was evaluated towrds larvae Galleria mellonella .The mortality percentage of larvae due to infection Fusarium isolates ranged from 13-76.6%.F.oxysporum3, F.oxysporum21,F.solani 12and F.solani16 were resulted in the highest Galleria mortality 76.6% in the pathogenicity test.The results indicated that the pathogenicity of Fusarium isolates against Galleria larvae was significantly varied.

Podaxis pistillaris (Gasteromycetes) from the desert of southern Iraq, an addition to the known mycota of Iraq

The desert gastroid mushroom Podaxis pistillaris (L. ex Pers.) Fr. collected from sandy desert habitat in southern Iraq was identified for the first time from this region. A detailed description and photographs are provided in addition to some information on its world distribution and traditional medicinal significances are discussed based on the available literature.

Assessment of Trophic status for Shatt Al-Arab River using trophic state index (TSI)

Shatt Al-Arab River receives considerable loads of nutrients, and other compounds, result-ing from anthropogenic activities within its catchment. The main aims of this first line research in trophic state index in Shatt Al-Arab River were to evaluate spatial and seasonal trends in waer nutrients and also to compare data with trophic state index (TSI), identifying and assessing the impact of the loads to the environment. Ten stations were sampled within northern parts of Shatt Al-Arab River. Field measurements (water temperature, pH, Dissolved Oxygen and secchi disc transparency) and laboratory water analysis (total phosphorus and chlorophyll-a) were carried on the sampling stations monthly. The results explained that the secchi disc transparency was negative correlated with chlorophyll-a , although there were ex-ceptions in some individual stations. The analysis of the data suggested that the relationship between transparency and total phosphorus was negative and slightly curvilinear. Positive correlation was found between Chl-a and total phosphorus. Trophic state index calculations (44.3) indicated mesotrophic conditions of Shatt Al-Arab River. The relationship of TSI with the diversity of different aquatic organisms is more beneficial to study in the future programs in this study area

Evaluation of Thermal Stabilization for Poly Vinyl Chloride Containing La,Sm and Nd-Decanoates

Three metal carboxylates were prepared namly,Lanthanum decanoate, Samarium decanoate and Neodymium decanoate, which were used as thermal stabilizers for PVC.These metal carboxylates were identified by elemental analysis,infrared and mass spectra.The mechanism of stabilization was studied by infrared (1500-1900 cm-1) and depended upon thin films.The changes in the absorbances intensity of COO–,C═C and C═O peaks were evaluated for different times at 200°C and resulting from the reaction of these metal carboxylates with hydrogen chloride liberated from PVC chains.It was found that infrared spectroscopy is a good technique to follow the consumption of the metal carboxylates during the thermal degradation.Ultraviolet spectra were used to study the thermal degradation of PVC at 275 and 385 nm and it was found that the metal carboxylates and their synergistic mixtures decreased conjugated double bonds in the polymer.The efficiency of these metal carboxylates in the stabilization of PVC was evaluated by thermogravimetric analysis during the calculating number of thermal parameters.The results indicated that metal carboxylates increased the thermal stability of PVC.

Simultaneous Approximation for a generalization Mixed Szãsz –Beta Type Operators

In this paper, we introduce a generalization of mixed Szãsz-Bata of Phillips type operators. First, we study the convergence theorem by applying the Korovkin's theorem, then we define and study the m-th order moment for this operators. Next, we prove the Voronovskaja-type asymptotic formula for our operators.

Effect of High Dose Injection of Methyl Prednisolone Acetate on some Physiological Parameters in Female Rats.

This study was conduct on 20 healthy female rats. Ten rats were injected intramuscularly with highly single dose (30mg /kg B.W) of methyl prednisolone acetate (MPA) daily for 60 days. While the other ten injected intramuscularly with normal saline (1ml/kg B.W) and considered as a control. Blood samples were collected from treated and control rats as well. Results revealed that there was significant (p<0.05) decrease in, total serum protein , lymphocytic count ,esinophilic and basophilic counts . There were significant (p< 0.05) increase in estrogen, progesterone, tri-iodthyronine(T3) , thyroxine(T4) hormones , total serum cholesterol , triglyceride ,total WBC count, neutrophilic and monocytiz counts .

Preparation and Analytical Study of New Chelating Resin Containing Tetracycline Drug

A new chelating resin was prepared by mixing tetracycline drug and trimethylolphenol. It was polymerized by heating to 90 °C then it was post cured to 100 °C after that it was grinded. The chelating behavior was examined against Co(II), Ni(II) and Cr(III) using patch method in different conditions like treatment time and pH at room temperature. The resin shows a good loading capacity toward Co(II) (time = 24 hrs and pH = 4) = 12.24 mg ion/ g resin, Cr(III) (time = 24 and pH = 4) = 11.21 mg ion/ g resin, and Ni(II) (time = 4 hrs and pH = 2) = 9.3 mg ion/ g resin.

The Study of Effect of Static Magnetic Field on The Liver Function Pre- and Post Partial Hepatoctomy in Rabit

The static magnetic field SMF was applied on the abdominal area, above the liver region to know the effect of SMF on the liver function. Twenty four rabbits were used in present study. The experimental study was designed to divide the animals to two groups , each one also divided to two subgroups based on the application of SMF and partial hepatoctomy. 2nd subgroup of 1st group and 2nd subgroup of 2nd group subjected to SMF (400 Gauss or 0.04 T), and the 1st and 2nd subgroup of 2nd group were performed partial hepatoctomy at caudate lobe of liver, whereas 1st subgroup of 1st group left as control group. Dose of SMF , blood parameters and biochemical GPT and GOT were estimated . the results of blood and biochemical parameters showed significant values at P≤0.05. except GPT value of 2nd subgroup of 2nd group showed highly significant at P≤0.001.In conclusion the magnetic field has ability to change liver physiology to better condition with low SMF, but combination of SMF and partial hepatoctomy was undesirable.

An Assessment of the treated water quality for some drinking water supplies at Basrah

In the present study, treated water samples are gathered from four drinking water supplies (Garma I, Al-Muwahad, Twenty five and Jubila) at Basrah during March, April, May and October / 2011, then ten chemical parameters are analyzed. Anova test of variance shows no spatial variations for all studied chemical parameters except for Sulphate (<0.05), free chlorine (<0.05) and total chlorine (<0.01) which reflect raw water quality in addition to treatment efficiency for each drinking water supply. The difference in dosage of both chlorine and alum [ AlK (SO4)2. 12H2O ] added at each water supply leading to existence of significant spatial differences in free chlorine, total chlorine and sulphate .The whole study period assessment of treated water quality at each water supply is achieved by the application of the CCME WQI model on all of the studied chemical parameters except total chlorine according to guideline values set by Iraqi standards (2001), World Health Standards WHO (1984) and WHO (1993), the results indicate that water quality can be rated as poor at both Garma I and Al-Muwahad water supplies respectively and as Marginal at both Twenty five and Jubaila water supplies respectively. This deterioration in water quality for the studied water supplies reflects poor raw water quality that is supplied to them.

Granite as an Adsorption Surface for the Removal of Bromo Phenol red , Bromo Cresol Green and Leishman's stain from Aqueous Solutions

Adsorption of dyes from aqueous solution on the surface of granite was accomplished under the optimized conditions of temperature ,initial concentration ,pH , contact time and weight surface. Spectroscopic technique was used for the measurement of dyes before and after adsorption. The applicability of Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherm equation for the present system was also tested. Thermodynamic parameters such as change in the free energy (ΔG),the enthalpy(ΔH ),the entropy (ΔS) and activation energy ( Ea )were favourable ,endothermic and spontaneous . Kinetics of adsorption was studied by using Lagergreen's equation at optimum pH and the adsorption rate constant kad was calculated. The data showed that the pseudo –first -order model was best fit model.

Lung volumes and the most common bacterial colonization in patients with allergic airways disease

This study was aimed to investigate the relationship between bacterial colonization and lung function tests in allergic airways disease patients .Two groups of individuals were included in this study; 17 healthy subjects group and 21 patients with allergic airways disease group, which was further subdivided into two subgroups;8 smokers and 13 non smokers .Lung function tests were estimated by using a micro medical lab spirometer. The Synthesis, Characterization and the Study of Optical Properties to Blends (4-NH2)4 PcCu Complex with Florescence and Rhodamine-B Dyes

Four types of complexes derivatives from (4-NH2)4 PcCu and two types of dyes (florescence and rhodamine-B) were prepared by condensation method. The prepared complexes were diagnosed by FTIR and UV.Visible spectrophotometry. The optical properties of the prepared complexes were measured. The optical band gap Eg was determined. The analysis of the optical absorption data indicates that the optical band gap Eg was indirect transitions.
