ISOLATION AND DETERMINATION OF PROTEIN FRACTIONS OF Trichophyton mentagrophytes Var.erinacei USING GEL FILTERATION CHROMATOGRAPHY

The protein in broken-cell extract from Trichophyton mentagrophytes var.erinacei was isolated and fractionated using sephadex G-100 gel filtration technique. On ultra-violet absorption of the isolated fractions was measured at 280 nm. the molecular weight of these fractions was calculated and found to be four fractions ranging :102,000,220,000,425,000 and 610.000 Daltons. Amino acid analyses showed a predominance of the following: glutamic acid ,glycine ,proline,valine,methionine and cyctine.In conclusion the information derived may be useful in the classification of Trichophyton species.

Distribution and abundance of zooplankton in Shatt Al-Basrah and Khour Al-Zubair Channels, Basrah, IRAQ

Monthly variation in the quality and quantity of zooplankton was studied in Shatt Al-Basrah and Khour Al-Zubair Channels, Basrah, Iraq, during March, 2009 to May, 2010. Samples of zooplankton were collected by plankton net (0.120 mm. Mesh size). In Shatt Al-Basrah Channel, the population density of zooplankton ranged between 5811 – 95514 Ind./m³ during August and April, 2009 respectively. The results showed that the Crustacea was the dominated group 62.9 %. Copepoda constituted about 44.7 % followed by Rotifera 31.0 %, Cirripede larvae 14.7 % , polychaetes 5.5 % and Cladocera 3.1 %. While in Khour Al-Zubair Channel the population density of zooplankton ranged between 3548 and 20328 Ind./m³ during January 2010 and October 2009, respectively. Crustacea was also the dominant group 83.7 % Copepoda formed about 66.6 % , Cirripede larvae and megalopa of crabs 8.4 % , Gastropoda 6.1 % and polychaetes 2.3 %.

Synthesis ,Characterization and antibacterial activity study of Cu(II) and Co(II) complexes with Nystatin

Cu(II) and Co(II) complexes were prepared by the reaction of metal ions with Nystatin in (1:1) and (1:2) metal ratio, respectively. These complexes were characterized by IR ,UV-Vis spectroscopy and conductivity measurements.All complexes shows relatively high antibacterial activity against S.aureus and E.coli whereas Nystatin has no antibacterial activity against the same bacteria. All complexes are weak electrolytes in DMSO solution .

Inflammation is the complex biological response to a protective attempt to remove the injurious stimuli, most strongly implicated are prostaglandins (PGs), leukotrienes (LTs), histamine, bradykinin, platelet activity factor (PAF) and interleukins. The Phenytoin is a drug used for the treatment of antiepileptic. Phenytoin acts to suppress the abnormal brain activity seen in seizure by reducing electrical conductance among brain cells by stabilizing the inactive state of voltage gated sodium channels, Phenytoin (5,5-diphenylimidazolidine-2,4-dione) were prepared from benzil and urea with sodium hydroxide in absolute ethanol. The derivative of phenytoin was prepared from a histidine acidifies with hydrochloric acid in absolute ethanol and phenytoin to give phenytoin-3-histdine IUPAC name is (S)-3-(2-amino-3-(1H-imidazol-4-yl) propanoyl)-5,5-diphenylimidazolidine-2,4-dione.

Chloramphenicol controlled release from Poly(acrylic acid-co-methyl methacrylate)hydrogels

In the present work methyl methacrylate-co-acrylic acid (MMA-co-AA) hydrogels were synthesized by free radical copolymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) and acrylic acid (AA) using methylene bisacrylamide (MBA) as crosslinker, potassium persulfate (KPS) and sodium metabisulfite (SMBS) as a type of mixed redox initiators. Selected samples were loaded with model drug chloramphenicol. For the chloramphenicol release, the effect of pH, monomeric compositions, degree of crosslinking were investigated. The release of chloramphenicol was studied for 11 day period in phosphate buffer solutions of different pH 2, 4, and 7.2. The swelling ratio (Rs) was measured for all the hydrogel structures, in three different media (pH=2), (pH=4) and (pH=7.2), and three different temperatures (37, 45, 50 ) 0 C as function of time. The results showed that drug release increased by decreasing (MMA) content in the hydrogels

New azo dye was prepared from 4,4-diaminodiphenyl sulfonate with 4-Acetyl aminophenol. The dye prepared by fox method, the azo dye were identified by IR–spectrophotometer and (CHN) analysis. Polyvinylpyrrolidone films of thickness 32 μm was prepared onto quartz substrate. The optical constants of the film were investigated by spectrophotometric measurement. The refractive index, extinction coffesiont and optical band gap (Eg ) are determined using the transmittance (T) and reflectance (R) in the spectra wavelength (340-700) nm

The Study of the Nonlinear Optical Properties of Solutions under CW Laser Illumination

The nonlinear optical properties of janus green in tetrahydrofuran solvent (THF) were studied using single beam Z-scan technique with a continuous-wave laser radiation at 635 nm of an output power of 40 mW. All the solution samples showed large nonlinear refractive indexes and absorption coefficient of the order of 10-7 cm2/W and 10-3 cm/W, respectively. The concentration-dependent nonlinear refractive index was also investigated. The solvent of spectroscopic grade and was used without further purification. All the solutions used for the study were freshly prepared

Variance Estimates for Price Changes in the Consumer Price Index for Kurdistan Region of Iraq (January-December, 2009)

In sample surveys, variance estimate is one of the most commonly used measures for analysing error. This study is the first to introduce variance estimates for price changes of commodities from the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Kurdistan Region (KR) of Iraq. The CPI, which is considered as an indicator for general level of prices, is the most significant economic indicator that enters into decisions about monetary policy settings for any country. The accuracy and reliability of this indicator (CPI) over time relies on the accurate measurements of price changes. Meantime, the study provides the first release of CPI for urban consumers of Kurdistan Region of Iraq and then computes the price changes of commodities for 1-month, 2-month, 6-month, and 12-month intervals and the corresponding standard error estimates using the monthly data, which is provided by Kurdistan Region Statistics Office (KRSO), for the period January to December 2009.

Effect of Pomegranate shells extract as natural Corrosion the inhibitor for C-Steel by using electrochemical technique

This study involves the efficiency evaluation of pomegranate shells extract as natural corrosion inhibitor for C-Steel in 1N HCL at various temperatures (293,323and343) °K using electrochemical technique. The results show that the inhibition efficiency increases with increasing the extract concentration and decreases with increasing temperature. The results of Potentiodynamic polarization curves indicate that the pomegranate shells extract behaves as a mixed type inhibitor. The thermodynamic functions of dissolution and adsorption processes were determined from experimental polarization curves and the interpretation of the results is given. The apparent activation energy, enthalpy , entropy and free energy of the dissolution process were determined and discussed.The Surface analysis (SEM and FT-IR) was also carried out to establish the corrosion inhibitive property of the pomegranate shells extract in 1N HCL. Metallurgical Microscope and FT-IR tests indicated that the pomegranate shells extract had high efficiency on adsorption on C-Steel from through function groups (carbonyl, phenol and amines). The results obtained showed that the pomegranate shells extract could serve as an effective natural inhibitor for the corrosion of C-Steel.

The control of network group contains a decade of electronic devices with the distribution is irregular and variable Topology by selecting (DS) Dominating Set and reduce their number as much as possible by adding laws of more development to reduce the DS, where the study of private networks developed in the evolution of rules binding for bases to a chiave two important hypotheses: Find a DS and reduce their number as much as possible, and the first was the achievement of the main hypotheses which is that the extent of sending all the nodes randomly is distributed equally, and the second hyporesearch is that communication between the nodes is not directed. All nodes in the network are not connected directly but through a third node called the DS. Then came the algorithm by the WU & Li to add the development of the assumptions above .Then the algorithm developed by syndicate NareshNanuvala.
In this research , we have proposed a new algorithm that added something new to reduce the number of DS for the previous algorithms.The simulated is by program in Visual Basic language for a protocol to control the contract for wireless connectivity and less DS and compare the results of the proposed algorithm with the results of the basic rules, WU & Li algorithm and NareshNanuvala

Nonlinear characterization of orcein solution and dye doped polymer film for application in optical limiting

The single beam Z-scan technique was used to determine the nonlinear optical properties of the orcein dye in the solvent chloroform and a dye doped polymer film. The experiments were performed using cw SDL laser with a wavelength of 532 nm. This material exhibits negative optical nonlinearity. The dye exhibited a nonlinear refractive index (n2 = 0.22 x 10-7and 2.32 x 10-7 cm2/W in dye solution and polymer film, respectively) and nonlinear absorption coefficient ( β = 1.44 x 10-3 and 18.61 x 10-3 cm/W in dye solution and polymer film, respectively). Optical limiting characteristics of the dye solution and polymer film were studied. The result reveals that orcein dye can be a promising material for optical limiting applications.
